Community Energy is about making clean energy generation work for local communities.
It creates ways for democratic involvement in the creation of renewable energy. How it is built and where it is placed. How it fits with the landscape and supports nature recovery. How it is financed and how we ensure it benfits the local community.
This is a very live area, which is gaining significant Government attention, with support coming from Great British Energy for feasibilirty studies and for expertise through the South West Net Zero Hub.
Community Energy England are coordinating the discussions with Government on behalf of the Community Energy Community
Zero North Wiltshire are establishing community owned renewables across North Wiltshire creating a put of funds to support community organisations
