The Kilrenny War Memorial which was unveiled and dedicated on the 12th March 1922 became a listed monument in 2008. This unique category ‘B’ listed monument is now recorded in the Scottish Ministers ‘Lists of Buildings of Architectural or Historic interest’ alongside such structures as the National Library of Scotland and St Aloysius’ College Glasgow. The listing is the culmination of a 2008 campaign by Cellardyke Residents Association (CRA) led by Black Watch veteran and CRA Treasurer Allan McLelland BEM together with Vice Chairman of the CRA Sonny Corstorphine and local resident Dr Chris Brittain.
