And update from the Chairman, Oliver Witney
The SEASON END. Our last games have now been played and you’d think that it will slow down for us, but instead it gets busier!
We have had a very good spring, the teams have played plenty of football and its been a great end to the season. The U18s played their final league game as a 3rd place playoff which was a great competitive fixture.
The U14s reached their cup final which was played at Thame United. It was a eye opening experience for the players who got the play on a stadium pitch. Unfortunately they didn’t come away with the winning trophy but it was a fantastic achievement to reach the final and put up a fight in the final. Well done to Jon, his coaches and the team for what they have managed to achieve this whole season.
We now start preparing for our celebration day. We plan to have games, prizes and trophies for the whole club and their family and friends. It is a tough ask as it requires a lot of organising, and always a bit nerve wrecking in the hope that the weather will be good!
Alongside this we already have to start preparing for next season. We plan on running a new U10s (those finishing year 3 and 4), as well as starting a new U15s (current U14s) next season. I am extremely thankful for our volunteers who do an awful lot for the club and to keep things going. We want to make sure we offer as much football for children in the area as possible and this is only possible with the volunteers!
