Thames Valley Police - Operation Grotto
Operation Grotto patrols has been continuing in towns and parishes in South Buckinghamsahire where the most burglary tends to take place. Police units have been carrying out prevention patrols, attending burglaries in progress and stopping suspicious vehicles at night.
Rates across the county have fallen by 30% in November 2025 proving efforts have been effective. Please help reduce burglary by following the going away checklist below:
1. Make sure all doors and windows are locked.
2. Be caucious about leaving spare keys out in hidden places that are accessible.
3. Check garden gates, sheds and garages are locked and secure.
4. Do not leave tools and ladders around that may assist burgulars.
5. Do not leave keys or valuables in plain site next to doors and windows.
6. Avoid leaving your home in total darkness. Leave a light on or use a timer. (08-12-25)
Tyzack Road Postbox Topper
The Tyzack Road Postbox has a new topper. It is one of many designs that have featured on the box over the year. Will there be yet another change ahead of Christmas or for the New Year? We will have to wait and see! In the meantime we can enjoy this feature at the junction of Tyzack Road with Totteridge Lane.(03-12-25)
We Make Wycombe
We Make Wycombe celebrates art and culture. Over the next week and two weekends they host an exhibition by Jane Peacock entitled Winter Beechwoods, Chalk and Light. Garden Waste Subscriptions
Buckinghamshire Council have advised that garden waste collections will stop again this year for a six week period. This will take place from Monday 15th December to Friday 23rd January. Collections will re-start on Monday 26th January 2026 on the usual collection days.
Garden waste suspension dates are timed to match the period when garden waste is at its lowest. During the suspension period other tasks are carried out including staff training and to allow for collection of extra waste over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Waste and recycling centres will still take garden waste as usual during the suspension. (13-11-25)

The hit TV show is back putting the spotlight on Britians Doorbell Detectives capturing neighbourhood crime. They are looking for people with a smart doorbell that has maybe captured a crime, scammer or parcel thieves. Thames Valley Police - Special Constabulary
Buckinghamshire Special Constabulary delivered 872 hours of volunteer service supporting regular officers in the force. This included incident and crime response, neighbourhood policing and proactive teams. This has had a hugely positive impact on responding to the needs of the community including the Safe Streets Campaign.

Safer Streets Campaign
The safer streets summer campaign has reached its final week with a further update on activities in High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Chesham Town Centres. Actions included 3 stop and searches resulting in 1 with something found and 16 arrests. There were 5000 minutes of Town Centre patrols with the campaign continuing joint patrols with partner agencies such as parking wardens and litter enforcement officers.

1st - Anti-social behaviour (338 Votes)
2nd - Speeding (306 Votes)
3rd - Drugs (305 Votes)
