Kingston Chinese Association - New GDPR and Privacy Policy 31st May 2018


We are writing to you today to let you know about some changes to our privacy policy.
You may know the data protection law is changing with the introduction of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). New regulations came into effect on the 25th May 2018 giving individuals more say over how organisations collect, store and handle their personal information.


How is your personal data collected?
• We collect personal information initially when you become members of
the Kingston Chinese Association by filling our membership forms.
• For instructors/volunteers personal information is collected as a result of helper enrolment forms
• By corresponding with us via telephone, email or our website.


How do we use your data?
• To provide the service at the gathering Centre and other venues.
• Record for instructors and volunteers
• Membership details, for administration and record purposes maintain a relationship with our members.


How we keep your data safe?
We aim to ensure that there are appropriate physical, technical managerial controls in place to protect any personal information you provide to us.


How long we store data for you?
• All records of members who have not renewed their membership for more than 6 years will be destroyed.
• We will safely retain all personal information while you are a member of
Kingston Chinese Association.

security of your information seriously. We have made updates to our privacy policy to reflect the changes in line with the new regulation to ensure you are clear about how we use your personal information and rights under GDPR.
