co-opted in the case of a vacany occuring between elections.

SPEED WATCH
Speeding on our roads is a frequent cause of complaint made by local residents to the police and county authorities. But these concerns seldom seem to result in visible forms of enforcement. A self-help scheme for the community to overcome the lack of regular speed checks is being organised by Parish and Borough Councillor Roger Keeble. 15-Seater Self-Drive Bus For Hire
The Community Bus is available for all residents of Blackmore, Hook End, and Wyatts Green.
Drivers must be over 21, have a clean driving licence with a D1 classification (most licences have this)
to drive a minibus, have held the licence for two years and live within the Parish.
The bus has been used for trips to the seaside, theatre, shopping centres, and for a
wide variety of purposes by families and groups and is provided for the exclusive benefit of our Parishioners.
Charges from as low as £38, including insurance waiver, for a half day.
A refundable deposit is required to ensure the vehicle is always in good order for the next hirer.

Criminals target Rural areas
Criminals are targeting the recreational areas of rural communities and even villages fetes and walking routes in order to steal from visitors and residents alike, according to a study revealing the new tactics used by thieves.
The criminologist research, sponsored by NFU Mutual interviewed a group of criminals awaiting sentencing for rural theft.
The respondents said they had begun targeting busy rural locations such as popular beauty spots or walking routes, taking advantage of the influx of strangers and lack of CCTV.
During the months popular with tourists, village festivals were named as ‘opportune events’ to scope out potential targets for theft. In quieter times of the year, some criminals said they would disguise themselves to blend in, often posing as delivery drivers or mechanics by wearing overalls and carrying a toolbox.
Another typical tactic detailed was to take on petty tasks for farmers and village-dwellers, such as vermin control or minor maintenance to build trust within countryside communities, but use the time to scout the area for opportunities.
The type of help volunteered by the criminals interviewed differed depending on the time of year, with general maintenance work offered in January and February, pest control in Spring and crop picking work from August to October.
For the more organised criminals interviewed, agricultural diesel and heating oil was named as the key theft target. For smaller scale or opportunistic criminals, tools inside garages and sheds were popular, along with metal.
