🌿 Bloom & Create: More Than an Event — A Community Moment

Today at Loraine Community Centre, under a sky full of sunshine, we witnessed something simple yet powerful: people coming together.

Families, children, young people, and elders gathered as part of our Bloom & Create afternoon. There was laughter, creativity, competition, and most importantly… connection.

🎨 Small Hands, Big Imagination

Children sat side by side, shaping clay into colourful creations — animals, fruit, characters, and ideas that only a child’s imagination can bring to life.

There was no pressure, no rules — just freedom to create, to express, and to enjoy the moment.

🔥 Play, Competition & Togetherness

Outside, the energy shifted as the Beyblade battles kicked off — excitement, cheering, and friendly rivalry filled the space.

Nearby, a beautiful moment unfolded — a mum and her son playing Carrom together, focused, laughing, competing, and sharing time.
Not just a game, but a memory being made.

☕ Tea, Conversations & Real Connection

Around the tables, neighbours shared tea, snacks, and conversations.

Some met for the first time.
Others reconnected.

Different ages, different backgrounds — all sitting together.

All ages, all colours, all religions… and no religion.
Just people. Just neighbours.

And that is what community should feel like.

🌱 A Moment to Reflect

While today was full of warmth and positivity, it also brought an honest reflection.

We are still not seeing enough of our neighbours coming out, sitting together, and getting to know one another.

And the truth is, not everything can be blamed on the council or the government.

Community starts with us.

We have to take that step:

  • To come out
  • To sit together
  • To talk
  • To listen
  • To understand one another

We cannot build strong communities only through social media, or by speaking within small circles.
Real change happens face-to-face.

It happens when we show up.

💛 A Message to my Neighbours

Let’s do better — together.

Let’s share our stories.
Let’s think about how we can improve life on our estate.
Let’s build something meaningful for ourselves and for the next generation.

Come to these events.
Join in.
Bring your family.
Bring your neighbour.

Because when we come together — truly come together — we become stronger.

🌼 Bloom & Create — From Neighbours, For Neighbours

Today was not just an activity session.

It was a reminder.

A reminder that connection is possible.
That community is still alive.
That something better can grow here.

For all ages.
For everyone.
Always welcome.

Together, we are a stronger community.
