On Tuesday 21st Carolyn Bloore, Paul Needham and I walked the Tidal Crane from the Northcote Road footbridge almost to the Thames, mapping the presence of Japanese Knotweed and also noting where we could see major stands of Himalayan Balsam.
We use Land Registry maps supplied by the Environment Agency, who usually send a team to spray JK along the river in early autumn (a special licence is needed to spray near water and specialist directional equipment is used).
The timing of the spraying is crucial and more detailed information can be found on the Invasive Species page.
