High Wycombe VE Day 80th Anniversary Walk

Starting at the Evacuation Memorial in Castle Street Gardens where the mayor will lay a wreath. From there the walk will include hearing about World War II related activity in the High Street and Queen Victoria Road before telling of the time of the US 8th Air Force Bomber Command which was stationed at Wycombe Abbey from 1942-5. From there we shall make our way along Paul's Row to Frogmoor to talk about the 'Mosquito', the Wooden Wonder, the airframes of which were mainly supplied by Wycombe furniture factories. Then to the war memorial at All Saints Parish Church before completing the walk at Kelkheim Square.
