Teas will next be served on Sunday 1st October between 2.30pm - 4.30pm

St Mary’s Church will again be serving up afternoon tea on Sundays in July, to raise funds for the church.  Various hot drinks, sandwiches and lovely home made cake is available at various prices.  We also have books, bric a brac and plants for sale.

There will be a live band or musician playing every week and you can have a look round our lovely church.

We would also like to raise funds for conservation work on the church, to restore our rare and beautiful Victorian paintings in the Chancel.

You can see the little patch of work that has already been carried out which cost £2,000 and the colours are so beautiful that it would be amazing to see the final product once it’s all restored.  This photo doesn’t do the colours justice!

The build up of pollution on the paintings was caused by candles used inside the church and a little bit of damp.  We are keen to have the paintings restored as there is only a handful of churches in the UK that now possess these paintings as most of them have been completely painted over.
