St James Church

As a Church of England parish church, St. James offers regular services on a Sunday, ranging from formal liturgical to informal family oriented services on the following general pattern, although exceptions are made for festivals and other special events.  Details can be found at 'A Church Near You' - please follow this link --> 

Our regular Sunday services are at 9:00am and 10:30am.

The 9:00am Holy Communion service does not include sung worship.

The 10:30am service includes sung worship and on different Sundays varies in formality (robed Holy Communion through to informal Praise and Worship), with facilities for small children (creche) and for older children.  Refreshments are available after the service.  On the fourth Sunday of the month the 10:30 service breaks out and goes to the village hall for 'Community Praise', a much more informal event but again followed by refreshments! 

 

1st Sunday of the month:

9:00 Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
10:30 Holy Communion (Common Worship)

2nd Sunday of the month:

9:00 Morning Prayer (Common Worship)
10:30 Praise and Worhip (informal)

3rd Sunday of the month:

9:00 Holy Communion (Common Worship)
10:30 Service of the Word (Common Worship)

4th Sunday of the month:

9:00 Morning Prayer (Common Worship)
9:30 Community Praise (informal.  NB in Westhead Village Hall)

5th Sunday of the month:

9:00 Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
10:30 Holy Communion (Common Worship)
