Join us at Buckfastleigh’s Moor Imagination Collective (MIC)

Next Saturday 12th April from 10:30 to 13:00, Scoriton & Buckfastleigh Twinners will be in the foyer at MIC ready to explain what the Twinning is, and why it is important to our town.

Cat-Chat posterAt the same time, you can pit your wits with French games and challenges, fun for grown-ups and youngsters alike.

The Twinning movement started after the Second World War, its mission to avoid Europe ever again being torn apart by war. With the current conflict in Ukraine, you’ll appreciate its aims are as relevant today as ever.

At the heart of the Twinning movement are young people. It offers them a unique chance to meet their overseas counterparts in a safe family setting to foster understanding and friendship. You’ll soon develop your French language skills in a natural fun environment.

Every two years, the Scoriton & Buckfastleigh Twinners organise a long weekend staying with French Twinning families in Fontaine-Henry, Normandy with everything arranged for you. When the French visit us, we reciprocate with accommodation. Don’t worry if you are concerned your particular circumstances may be difficult – we can work that out nearer the time.

Also, note you do not need to speak French! Twinners from both sides of the Channel muddle along just fine. A positive attitude is all that is required.

So please consider joining us. Annual subscriptions to the Twinning are kept affordable for all. We want to encourage as many new members as possible to keep our Twinning moving forward.
