Painting the Walnut Tree

The walnut tree on Musgrave Church Field is said to be the oldest in Westmorland - 
it might be shown in the Rectory garden in drawings made in 1827 and 1883.
Red squirrels collect and store the walnuts each autumn.
Barn owls nest in the tree.
Two more walnut trees have now been planted.
