  • Fife Presbytery Mission Plan (PMP): Annual Evaluation & Development (AED) Plan – Update March 2024
  • Fife Presbytery Mission Plan (PMP): Annual Evaluation & Development (AED) Plan – Update March 2024 When the Church of Scotland introduced its Presbytery Mission Planning process it was made clear that each Presbytery Mission Plan would be subject to an annual review. We have received further information about the format of that review and are issuing this communication to keep members of Presbytery in the loop. The Rev’d Angus Mathieson, Presbytery & Partnership Support Manager of the Faith Action staff writes: “As we look to the future, PMPIG (Presbytery Mission Plan Implementation Group) and the General Trustees are committed to work with each Presbytery to agree how, in the first year, we will work together through a process to produce an AED.” Presbyteries have been sent guidance notes. “These contain 6 questions from PMPIG and 5 from the General Trustees to guide thinking and to guide each Presbytery as you note progress and also highlight areas of potential development.” Faith Action are committed to working flexibly with Presbytery to aid us in our work, and they will be in touch in due course with the names of the members of PMPIG, who will work with each Presbytery towards the completion of the AED Plan along with a proposed timescale. We are further advised that, moving on, there may be times outwith the AED when we wish to make adjustments to the Presbytery Mission Plan. “Both PMPIG and the General Trustees are happy to advise on possible changes to PMPs and request that consultation of such changes take place as early a stage as possible, particularly when such changes are a variation to the previously agreed PMP. Where such changes are significant, it is particularly important to consult ... The General Trustees would like to highlight that they have a requirement to receive an Extract Minute of a Presbytery’s approval for the sale of a building, in which the building is named.” Whilst further guidance and a proposed timescale are awaited, in Fife Presbytery it is anticipated that the Fife Presbytery Mission Plan Implementation Group (Convener: Pamela Scott DCS) will prepare the AED, with support from Implementation Officer, the Rev’d Giles Dove. If you have any questions concerning this process, please contact Giles (gdove@churchofscotland.org.uk) who will do his best to respond
