Dear Church Leader
I wanted to introduce myself as the new Kingdom 2000 (K2) worker which you may know is a local Christian charity working in association with SU Scotland that seeks to support schools and churches in Northeast Fife. Prior to Covid we were engaged with several NE Fife schools and now that many schools are resuming partnerships with local community organisations, I am hoping that I will be able to offer support in the schools and children's and youth work in our area.
It would be great to meet all the ministers and church leaders connected with the schools that I will be contacting. The remit for the Kingdom 2000 schools' development worker post is to be available to support Waid Academy, Madras and Bell Baxter High Schools and the feeder primary schools. My plan is to make contact with the schools in the next couple of months but I wanted to be in touch with the churches prior to this. We would like to offer curriculum events such as Bible Alive, Bubblegum n Fluff and Easter Code, start SU groups and to be part of the chaplaincy teams in the schools where this would be helpful, ideally in partnership with the local ministers and churches.
The Cupar ministers have suggested I meet them altogether after October and I have been able to connect with some of the church leaders in St. Andrews so far. I am writing to you hoping that I will be able to meet anyone who has an interest in the work of K2 and to find out where they may be gaps that we can fill in terms of supporting the schools. There may also be possibilities of working with those who are already going into our schools.
