Community Liaison & Outreach Coordinator

Role Title: Volunteer Community Liaison & Outreach Coordinator

Location: South Birmingham (Remote / Community-Based)

Commitment: 2–4 hours per week (flexible)

About the Role:

Building meaningful relationships across South Birmingham is at the heart of what we do. We are seeking an outgoing and organised Community Liaison & Outreach Coordinator to bridge the gap between our studio and the community. In this role, you will be a main point of contact for local charities, community hubs, and senior groups, ensuring isolated residents—particularly the over-50s—are connected with the station. You will coordinate directly with our team of Volunteer Field Content Collectors to point them toward key local events, groups, and untold neighborhood stories. [1]

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong links with community leaders, neighborhood groups, and senior support networks across South Birmingham.
  • Act as the main pipeline for local announcements, flagging upcoming community events to our Volunteer Radio Script Writers and Website News Writers. [1, 2]
  • Coordinate with Volunteer Field Content Collectors by identifying specific local venues, festivals, or group meetings where live audio or resident interviews should be gathered. [1]
  • Promote Hope Radio Brum's 87.9 FM broadcast offline by distributing flyers and schedules to community spaces like libraries and care hubs.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A friendly, community-minded individual who enjoys networking and building positive relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to act as a reliable liaison between external groups and internal station teams.
  • Passionate about local representation and tackling social isolation or the digital divide in South Birmingham.
