The playing field and all equipment is the responsibility of High Easter Parish Council.
New play area for children under 3 years of age
The Parish Council is planning an extension to the play area on the Jubilee Playing Field.
This is to allow for the inclusion of play equipment for younger children and to include play panels suitable for children with disabilities.
For the first time braille will be included within the design for children with visual impairments. A large tractor with a slide will be a centrepiece for this extension that will replace the current basketball hoop.
The hoop will be re-located to near the five-a-side pitch. Works are scheduled to begin on the playing field on Monday 20th April 2026 for around two weeks.
The Parish Council would like to thank the following contributions for their generosity in helping to make sure the extension can be built:
Grant from Essex County Council's Community Initiatives Fund - £10,000
Butteflys pre-school High Easter who took part in a sponsored toddle to raise funds - £493
Previous rennovation work
New equipment and a play surface was opened in July 2021. The project was made possible through the commitment of the Parish Council and with the help of the following,
High Easter Sports Initiative Fund and those who donated to this fund in 2011-12. - £14,600
Butteflys pre-school High Easter who took part in a sponsored toddle to raise funds - £400
Donation from the estate of t/l Geoffrey Taylor given for use in the community - £1,000
Proceeds from SAS talk arranged by Robert Lodge - £200
Grant from Uttlesford Community Project Fund - £3,500
Grant from Essex County Council Locality Fund - £1,300
And from all the residents of High Easter who allowed the Parish Council to increase precept in 2020/21 to cover the shortfall in funding- £11,000
Thanks also to Cllr Robert Lodge, Cllr Nigel Boreham, Clem Kelsey for their efforts to clear the site prior to the installation which saved a further £1,200 of cost.
