he Parish Council has joined the Essex Highways Winter Salt Bag Scheme. This allows the parish council to receive free bags of salt to use in agreed locations in the parish during the winter months. The salt bags are stored in the parish.
Essex Highways salt three main routes in and out of the village. From the centre these are the roads towards Leaden Roding/Good Easter, the road to Barnston and towards Pleshey. Minor roads are not salted.
The Essex Highways Winter Salt Bag Scheme allows local volunteers to clear and salt key areas which are not covered by Essex Highways.
The parish coucnil stocks two salt bins, junction of The Street and School Lane, and the village hall car park. In addition salt is available from the parish council for use on publlic footpaths by volunteers in extreme weather.
If resdients have additional requests and/or are able to assist with clearing snow and salting, please contact the parish clerk.
