Anthony McQuigganPump - Well LaneThe story of our water in Galleywood - From the early waters rising in Chelmsford, conduits, pipe-lines, pumps and reservoirs, treatment and the sweat of navies. Civic pride and ransom contacts, naiad and nymphs. Galleywood's Anthony McQuiggan takes us on an illustrated story with intrigue and colour, The search for sites, the sale of Mrs. Keens land, the urban ruins of redundant plant. Just water, pure and simple.

Anthony McQuiggan lives in Galleywood and was a former Cabinet Member for Digital Transformation at Chelmsford City Council and former Chairman of the Galleywood Parish Council. Passionate about local history and historic records. Desperately missing access to the National Archives at Kew and to the Essex records office, a Trustee of the Heritage centre and other local charities and a huge supporter of the Archive Group there.

Anthony's talk on Galleywood water was streamed live here on Tuesday afternoon from 2pm - the time pre-COVI-19 he was due to give a Heritage Talk at the Galleywood Heritage Centre.
