The society funds a project each year – often in a school – aimed at introducing art in its widest sense to young people. Projects have included stained glass work and music for a children’s choir.

Young Persons Drawing Day with Nick Sharratt

This was Nick Sharratt's second visit to Gainsborough & District Arts Society, held at Trinity Arts Centre.

Nick delighted 180 local students with his Draw-A-Long sessions, learning how to draw animals.

Following this the students were able to show their work.

The picture below shows Nick with the team.

Church Trails

Church Trails are a recent addition to the range of activities undertaked by member societies of The Arts Society. They are intended to encourage young people and families to engage with a Church's or other similar location's history, architecture and furnishings by researching and designing a Church Trail for Children. This, through pictures, questions and quizzes encourages them to make a more detailed examination of the location.

House Trail

The Arts Society Gainsborough & District committee have put together a House Trail for the Old Rectory at Epworth along the same lines as a Church Trail. This important building was the home of the Wesley family and is of huge international significance.
