Monthly Meetings

The Society meets at the Trinity Centre, Gainsborough on the first Thursday of every month except January, July and August (when there are no meetings). These monthly meetings commence at 1:45 pm but as there are usually notices etc. before each meeting and as the theatre is fairly large with only two doors, please try to be in the building by 1:35 and seated by 1:40. The lectures start at about 1:55 and are given by lecturers approved by The Arts Society. The lectures are usually ended by 3:05.

Visitors are welcome to attend monthly lectures at a cost of £10 per person, but this charge is refundable if you join the society within that year.  A link to register as a visitor for our next lecture is provided here:  Visitors to TASGAD Lectures 

New members attending their first meeting are welcome to a complimentary tea or coffee in the bar after the lecture - an excellent chance to meet other members and learn about the Society

 Study Days and Special Interest Days

An all day event, usually including lunch, to give more detailed study of a specific subject.   Cost and location announced for each Study Day.

 Visits and Tours

One day and 3 to 4 days – visits to places of interest, usually with a guided tour and sometimes related to an earlier lecture or special interest day. Cost announced for each event.

The Arts Society organises special interest days, visits and heritage training on both an Area and a National basis.

 Membership

The membership year runs as the calendar year and the Annual General Meeting take place immediately before our February meeting. At the AGM members elect Officers and the Committee.

Membership fees for 2024 will be £65 single and £125 for two adults resident at the same address.

our visitor fee is £10 per lecture.

Our membership year ends in December and the new year begins each February. 

Membership of The Arts Society Gainsborough & District automatically includes membership of The Arts Society and members receive a free copy of “The Review” the quarterly magazine, as well as being entitled to take up member only offers in that journal.   There is more information on The Arts Society at http://www.theartssociety.org

Car Parking

Members may park in the upper section of the Tesco car park if attending TASGAD lectures. It is very important that names and car registration details are logged with Tesco customer services on each occasion. If, despite this, a parking penalty notice is received, take the notice into the store as management staff can over-ride a notice issued erroneously.

General Data Protection Regulation Compliance

Members' details will be processed fairly and lawfully in order to satisfy the agreement entered upon admittance to membership. This will ensure that members receive the latest news and informationabout all upcoming events.

Members' details will be passed to 'The Arts Society' to enable inclusion on the mailing of the quarterly magazine and other comunications, including information about any upcoming national events or items of legitimate interest.

Members' details may be passed to 'The Arts Society Area' or other affiliated societies for the purpose of disseminating relevant information of legitimate interest.

Members' details will be kept safely and securely. Members are able to opt out of communications at any time.
