Even years after leaving Bombay, Nannie Grace and Grandad Narciso never abandoned their weekend 4 o'clock tea ritual. Saturdays always began with a one-hour siesta, after which Grandad would tune in to his favourite wrestling programme. Upon waking, his first question to us "Girls" was always the same: Was there anything ready for tea? If we said no, he’d take matters into his own hands, searching the kitchen cupboards to whip up one of his simple, delicious teatime treats.
