There will be plenty to keep Cambridge Road Estate (CRE) and Cambridge Gardens residents entertained at this year's CREst-organised CRE Fun Day event, set to take place from 12-4pm on Saturday 9 September.
Madingley Green will once again be brimming with fun-packed stalls and games, from a giant slide, trampoline and donkey rides to a tombola, BBQ and even a visiting fire engine. There will also be a chance for residents keen to stay active to take advantage of the wellbeing stalls plus the visiting bike repair service from Kingston's very own community bike project.
For the first time, the annual Fun Day will also feature a teen-friendly Youth Zone, organised by younger members of the estate. This initiative has come about after Mobilise has been working closely with the local Achieving For Children team to design a youth-led Community Engagement Event.
Helping make the day out even more special, the Youth Zone will offer the chance for fun-seekers to try skateboarding or get their (roller) skates on at the pop-up park, get stuck into some guerrilla gardening to help brighten up the estate, and even show their four-legged friends off at the community dog show, all to the backdrop of free ice cream and local DJs.
