In 2016, Peter Prowse sold his red Fender Stratocaster and gave up his lifelong quest to learn Jimmy Page’s guitar solo from Stairway to Heaven. Although his set may include the odd acoustic throwback to a Who, Eagles or Kinks number, he now also writes his own songs about the really important things in life – being a grandad, NHS cancer screening, funerals, and the curse of the microchip. His short Ode to Vaseline went down a storm at the North Tyneside Ukulele Festival last November.
