NEWS - we return to The Punchbowl Inn, Okewood Hill

Following a change of the pub's management, we no longer meet at the Bulls Head in Ewhurst.

The good news is that we will be returning to the Punchbowl Inn in Okewood Hill – where we used to meet until April 2018. They have an upstairs function room, plenty of parking and boast a fine selection of ales.

We will need to pay for the room, so we will be charging admission of £3. However, as a goodwill gesture, our first meeting at the Punchbowl Inn will be free.

Every evening is different, but it’s always good-hearted and enjoyable. If you haven’t been yet, we’d love to see you there, whether you fancy performing or just want to listen or join in.

Interestingly, the Inn is listed as one of the most haunted places in Surrey – read about it here – but I doubt we will be troubled by ghosts!

The Punchbowl Inn is easy to find; take the Okewood Hill turning  three-quarters of a mile South of Ockley (no signpost) and the Inn is a half a mile on the right. Postcode is RH5 5PU.

 

Cranleigh Folk promotes acoustic music in Cranleigh and the surrounding villages. Our usual club nights are the first Thursday of the month, starting at 8 p.m.

We generally host open singers' nights where local singers and visiting singers and musicians provide the entertainment; traditional, contemporary and original acoustic music. We welcome all musical styles as long as they are acoustic.

Floor singers are welcome - no need to book. We call these 'Singarounds' because we take turns to sing. Newcomers are encouraged - and new performers will be given a friendly reception.

Some of our evenings are 'Showcase' evenings where we give local performers the chance to take the whole second half of the evening and really show us what they can do.

We have Guest performer nights occasionally on some other dates, with an admission charge.
