The 2019 dinner was held in Queens' College, Cambridge.
Prior to the dinner on Saturday, the three expeditions supported by the Arctic Club Award reported. Sail to Climb, Renland, Greenland and Green-X 2019. The photographs were stunning and the expeditions themselves so interesting. Madeleine Humphreys, presided.
On Sunday we had the opportunity to hear from Dag Hagenaes Kjelldahl, a relatively new member of the Club, who spent a year on Bear Island in the 1970s. He has written a book about his time on Bear Island, The Story of an Isolated Arctic Island - Exploration, People, Culture and Nature. The final photograph shows "the survivors" those who attended the Scott Polar Research Institute. We are very grateful to the Institute for allowing us to use the lecture theatre.
The following photographs were taken by Brigitte Grossmann - we are most grateful to her for taking them and allowing their use.
