USC provides community-based support, activities and opportunities for children, young people, families and the wider community.
Our aim is to create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where children and young people can build confidence, develop new skills, stay active, make friends and feel supported. We are passionate about using sport, mentoring, creative activities and community engagement to help young people reach their potential.
What We Provide
Football and Sports Activities
USC delivers football and sports-based sessions for children and young people. These activities help young people to stay active, improve their fitness, develop teamwork skills and build discipline in a supportive environment.
Through football, young people are encouraged to develop confidence, respect, communication skills and positive relationships with others.
Youth Development and Mentoring
We support young people to grow in confidence, make positive choices and recognise their own strengths.
Our work focuses on personal development, self-esteem, motivation, teamwork, leadership and emotional wellbeing. We aim to provide young people with positive role models and safe spaces where they feel listened to, encouraged and valued.
Community Activities
USC supports community engagement by creating opportunities for children, young people, parents, carers and residents to come together.
Our activities help to reduce isolation, strengthen community connections and create positive relationships between families, young people and local services.
Workshops and Learning Opportunities
Where possible, USC provides workshops and learning opportunities that support young people’s personal, social and educational development.
These may include sessions around confidence-building, healthy choices, teamwork, leadership, emotional wellbeing, life skills, safety, creativity and community responsibility.
Support for Families
We understand that supporting young people also means working alongside families. USC aims to build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and involved where appropriate.
We encourage open communication so that children and young people can receive the right support, encouragement and guidance.
Safe and Inclusive Activities
USC is committed to making its activities welcoming, respectful and accessible. We aim to create an environment where everyone feels included, regardless of background, ability, culture, gender, religion or personal circumstances.
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is at the heart of everything we do. Our work is supported by policies and procedures covering safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment, equality and data protection.
