Storm Henk - Flooding and excess water

Reporting Flooding on the HIghway

Reporting Flooding on the Highway.
Many of you will have experienced the flooding throughout the Village this season. I have been asked to give some guidance on how to notify Essex Highways of any problem that arise so here goes. After a bit of delving into who is responsible for the issues ,I found this website
It allows you to report the issue online and then gives you a number to identify your complaint and to track the progress. You can also report the issue using the following phone number for Essex Highways.
0345 6037631
If you choose the website then here are the steps to follow
  1. Select type of issue from their site -there are several options
  2. Use the search box to find location . A map will appear and you will be able to change location using the map.
  3. The map may show issues already reported marked with pins. Click on the pin to ascertain if this is the issue you want to report. Please do not assume that the issue has been reported as many of the pins just give the details of quarterly or annual inspection of the road. Clicking on the pin will also give you the current status of the issue.
  4. If you are indeed reporting a new issue, more details will be asked for and you also have the ability to upload a photo of the location- this might be a good idea as it pinpoints exactly the location also providing evidence of its effect.
  5. If you leave your email address they will send you an email giving you a reference number which can then be used to track the issue but it will rely on you to go back on the website to do this.
Lastly if you have any issue please feel free to contact me and I will try to help.
