Southampton and Eastleigh Friends of the Earth (FoE)
About us: We are quickly running out of time to stop climate change. We have been told climate change will mean flooding, disastrous weather patterns, rising sea levels, extreme drought, hurricanes changing in frequency and strength, spreading disease and wars over resources. However, most of these have already started to happen, from flooding in England to the climate war in Darfur. Climate change affects us all and so the local people of Southampton and Eastleigh have got together to do their bit for climate change and we want you to join us!
Currently, we are working closely with “Clean Air Southampton” to raise awareness of air pollution issues locally, helping with air quality monitoring, and highlighting solutions to cleaning up out air!
Southampton and Eastleigh Friends of the Earth is part of over 70 Friends of the Earth international groups and over 200 local groups in the UK. They are also part of many events such as seed swap, Environmental Rock, and clean air day. If these excite you, get in contact with them!

Woolston, Freemantle and Millbrook Time Banks
The Time Bank is a way to use your skills helping others & receiving help in return. Everyone has something to offer, from gardening to form filling. Timebanking is a means of exchange used to organise people and organisations around a purpose, where time is the principal currency. For every hour participants ‘deposit’ in a timebank, perhaps by giving practical help and support to others, they are able to ‘withdraw’ equivalent support in time when they themselves are in need. In each case, the participant decides what they can offer. Everyone’s time is equal, so one hour of my time is equal to one hour of your time, irrespective of whatever we choose to exchange.
