Although we have not entered Pontefract in Yorkshire in Bloom since achieving Gold in 2022, we did enter Friarwood Valley Gardens in the Parks and Gardens category and won the prestigious Gold Award in both 2024 and 2025. All credit to Friends of Friarwood Valley Gardens.
This summer you will have noticed a change in our floral displays. For logistical reasons we have not been able to install the tiered planters, but only their bases, but they look good even so. Also, we were unable to provide hanging baskets to town centre. The reason is that our plant nursery supplier has ceased trading and we have had to reduce our supply this year.
