The Parish Council has joined the Essex Highways Winter Salt Bag Scheme. This allows the parish council to receive free bags of salt to use in agreed locations in the parish during the winter months. Due to lack of storage, Margaret Roding parish council shares salt which is stored by a neighbouring parish.
Only the A1060 road is covered by Essex Highways current salting routes, other roads and footpaths in the parish are not salted by Essex Highways.
The Essex Highways Winter Salt Bag Scheme allows local volunteers to clear and salt key areas which are not covered by Essex Highways.
The parish coucnil has identified the following priority sites and has purchased salt bins to assist with local storage.
1. Highway Marks Hall Lane, north of its junction with the A1060 distance c.20m. Selected to reduce risk of not stopping at junction, an area of issue due to poor drainage issues
