Union of Rural Alliance Churches:

As part of the Fife Presbytery Mission Plan it is proposed that the four churches of the Rural Alliance: Kingsbarns, Kilrenny, Largoward and Carnbee will unite to become a single parish.  Each of our churches is in Guardianship, except Carnbee which is currently linked with Pittenweem, and each Church is too small as an individual church to have a long-term future.  Carnbee will dissolve the linkage they are currently in with Pittenweem and join the union.  Ultimately, the united parish will link with the parish of Ceres, Kemback and Springfield.  This will allow us to be part of a larger entity led by the Rev Jane Barron and there will also be provision for an Ordained Local Minister within the new setup.  The Basis of Union document has been agreed by the National Presbytery Mission Plan Implementation Group and Fife Presbytery and we have been given permission to move to the next stage which will be a congregational vote.  All four congregations will vote on the same Sunday which will be 7th September.  The congregational vote will be by secret ballot and will be restricted to members of the congregation who are physically present that morning.  The result of the vote will be communicated to Presbytery who will confirm the votes from all four congregations and then inform the congregations on Sunday 14th September.

To enable the congregational vote we have to go through a process of Attestation of the Congregational Roll.  What follows is the formal intimation to ensure that those who wish to be on the roll can ensure they do so in time.

Formal Intimation of the Attestation of the Congregational Roll:

The Communicants Roll  of this congregation is going to be attested by the Kirk Session as a true and accurate record of all members of the congregation.  This will be done early in September, prior to the anticipated congregational vote for the proposed Union of the four congregations of the Rural Alliance Churches.  If you are not a member of this congregation and wish to be, please contact Corinne Peddie, the Session Clerk, who will take you through the process.
