Welcome and Church News

Christian Aid Week

Christian Aid Week runs from today,15 May. The fundraising focus this year is again the climate emergency. Those who do not, like us, live in a temperate climate, are suffering life-threatening water shortages. Zimbabwe is a country where the climate crisis is causing aching hunger. It is the women who grow the crops to feed their families, and they desperately need drought-resistant seeds to be able to grow such crops.

Please give what you can and help ensure that children, and adults, do not have to suffer such hunger and malnutrition.

Christian Aid envelopes are available in church, but any envelope can be used if Gift Aid isn’t relevant. Cash is fine or a cheque. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Christian Aid’.

Thanking you in advance,

Lesley McKane

Christian Aid Week Big Brunch

After church next Sunday, 22 May, we are once again holding a Big Brunch after the church service as part of our Christian Aid Week celebrations. There will be bacon rolls available (or egg if required) as well as of course tea and coffee. A short quiz will be on each table, as well as a food-themed longer quiz to take away (£1 donation please). We are not charging any admission for this event, but there will be a donations box for use if you feel able to make a donation. The food being provided is being donated, so all donations will go straight to Christian Aid.
