Intimations.

 

• Communion will be celebrated next Sunday, June 20th.

          The Kirk Session will constitute at 0930 in the Church hall.

 

          The service of Communion will be conducted in a Covid safe way. The traditional arrangement of passing the elements will be replaced by a pre-packaged two part cup, containing a wafer and juice which will be placed at each seat.

Hymn CH 211     Today I awake and God is before me.

At night, as I dreamt, he summoned the day;

for God never sleeps patterns the morning,

with slithers of gold or glory in grey

 

Today I arise and Christ is beside me,

He walked through the dark to scatter new light.

Yes, Christ is alive, and beckons his people

to hope and to heal, resist, and invite.

 

Today I affirm the Spirit within me

at worship and work, in struggle and rest.

The Spirit inspires all life which is changing

from fearing to faith, from broken to blest.

 

Today I enjoy the Trinity round me,

above and beneath, before and behind;

the Maker, the son, the Spirit together -

they called me to life and call me their friend.

Behold the amazing gift of love the Father hath bestowed

on us, in calling us his own, the children of our God

 

Concealed as yet this honour lies, by this dark world unknown,

a world that knew not when he came, even God's eternal Son.

 

High is the rank we now possess; but higher we shall rise,

through what we shall hereafter be is hid from mortal eyes.

 

Our souls, we know, when he appears, shall bear his image bright;

for all his glory, full disclosed, shall open to our sight.

Meekness and Majesty, manhood and deity,

          bow down and worship, for this is your God, this is your God!

 

Father's pure radiance, perfect in innocence,

yet learns obedience to death on a cross:

suffering to give us life, conquering through sacrifice -

and as they crucify, prays 'Father forgive'.

 

Wisdom unsearchable, God the invisible,

love indestructible in frailty appears:

Lord of infinity, stooping so tenderly,

lifts our humanity to the heights of his throne.

Look forward in faith, all time is in God's hand.

Walk humbly with him and trust his future plan.

God has wisely led his people by his power

Look forward in faith, the world is in God's care.

His purpose of love he calls on us to share.

In our neighbour's need the Lord is present still

He blesses the meek! the earth will know God's will.

 

Look forward in faith, God gives us life each day.

Go onward with Christ, his Spirit guides our way.

Now God lets us live within the sphere of grace.

Trust ever in him he rules o'er earth and space!
