Happy New Year! Just a reminder that our 2024 programme begins on Tuesday 23 January with a talk about the Venerable Bede. An astonishing and interesting figure from our history. We look forward to welcoming you at 7:30pm in St John’s Community Hall as usual.
Also, a reminder the meeting will be your last chance to book tickets to see “Wor Bella” at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle on at 2:30pm Sunday 28 April 2024. It is by Ed Waugh and tells the story of women’s football during WW1 and how Blyth Spartans Ladies won the ‘Munitionettes Cup’ in 1918.
The play finishes at about 4:30pm and includes an interval. The normal price is £22, this is reduced to £19 for our group booking. If you are a friend of the Theatre Royal it reduces to £17.60. Cheques can be made payable to Killingworth Local History Society. If you are a friend of the Theatre Royal, we also need your membership number.
We ask that you make your own way to the performance.
