We are a group of local residents in Heaton Moor, Stockport who are working alongside Stockport Council to develop a derelict site into a community open space for the benefit of local schools and organisations.
Our Aims:
- To work alongside Stockport MBC to implement the approved planning request to import topsoil to cover the pitch and return it to a mowable surface which will allow the area to become a usable, turfed, public open space in line with the council's proposed works plan
- To raise the awareness of the local community about our plans for the pitch and to organise community action as and when required
- To plan for the future development of the pitch into a community open space and to recruit and build relationships with partners who will be able to offer financial and material support when required
