Skylark

Skylarks usually sing in flight but Zoe Watson captured this one singing from a fence post in the pond field on 8/7/2016. Maybe it was too windy for a song flight! Skylarks nest on the ground, so it helps them if we keep to paths and keep dogs under control during the nesting season. The crest is clearly visible in this photo.
