A nymph is the young of an insect that does have a complete metamorphosis (as do butterflies for example). The nymphs grow by shedding their skin - each stage is called an instar. When the final one sheds its skin it becomes an adult. Small field at Landport Bottom (Zoe Watson 10/8/2015)
