Friends of Friarwood Valley Gardens is a voluntary community group. All our achievements have been brought about by volunteers: gardening, events, grant applications, litter-picking and donations.

  Litter-pickers      gardening

Our active volunteers restored the Sensory Garden in 2013 and completely replanted all 31 beds of the Rose Garden in 2014 - 15. The maintenance of these two projects keeps us busy throughout the year. Our gardening sessions are usually every Saturday afternoon, 2 - 4pm. Litter-picking: our usual sessions are every first Sunday morning at 10.30am and we encourage litter-picking during your normal exercise visits.

Donations

We have received donations for the planting of trees and for new benches. Each of the 31 rose beds  were replanted by donations given by individuals or other community groups. We are happy to display a plaque in recognition of the donation or as a memorial tribute.

Grants

We have been fortunate to receive significant funding support from a variety of grant awarding bodies, which has provided the children's playground, new benches and picnic tables, restored the outdoor stage, renovated the former aviary and supported our events.
