This card was posted during the First World War, 1914-18. It was sent by Driver Jack Wright of the 2nd Warwick Batrery, Royal Field Artillery, who was stationed at East Hanningfield. It was addressed to Miss Theresa Wright of Bellborn Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham. It reads, "Dear Theresa, Just a line to let you know that I have arrived here safe. We had nearly 2 hours in London and it was alright although we nearly missed the train to Chelmsford. Hoping to hear from you soon. Will write letter latter (sic). With love Jack.
