Every civil parish in England must hold an annual meeting, sometimes known as a parish assembly or electors' meeting, between the dates of 1st. March and 1st. June inclusive. It is not a parish council meeting, but should be chaired by the Chairman of the Parish Council if he or she is present.
Earlier Minutes of East Hanningfield Annual Parish Meetings can be found in the Parish Council Minute Books that have been deposited at the Essex Record Office. The catalogue numbers are D/J 2/1/1 for years 1894-1937 and D/J 2/1/2 for years 1937-1974.
