2025 AGM 

Seventeen people were present. Apologies were received from Sue Hanley, Clive Hill and Helen Rees.

The minutes of the previous meeting were not read.

Chairman Derek Cheek thanked everyone for coming. and stated that progress had been made because of the increase in numbers attending the debates over the past year.  A sentiment endorsed by all those present. 

Treasurer Jean Cheek provided a breakdown of the accounts as follows:

Over the year 11 members paid £20 for the year and 81 visitors paid £2 per meeting giving a total income of £382.

After paying out for hall hire, affiliation, and tea money totalling £312, there is a profit of £70.

It was therefore moved that the yearly membership cost be reduced to £15.

Motion carried unanimously

Secretary Lee Knight gave notice to stand down as secretary with immediate effect.

However, he agreed to continue to publicise the debates and to set up a WhatsApp group to enable members to communicate with each other. Jean Cheek has made arrangements with CVST to pick up the key. However, the register of contacts would need to be maintained and refreshments catered. There were no volunteers for these tasks so they will be raised at the next meeting. Also, Lorry Greenall to ask Lee to define any other tasks undertaken.

CVST have given notice that the Garden Room will no longer be available for hire but have offered the use of Sams Hall in its place. This offer was unanimously accepted
