The primary functions of the Parish Council are:-   

  • To represent the needs of the village to Chelmsford City Council and Essex County Council. 

  • To sustain and develop local facilities within the allocated budget.

We meet on the second Monday of January, March, May, July, September and November at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall, Chignal St James. 

The Annual Parish meeting, takes place in March. 

All matters relating to the village may be discussed, and the meetings are open and all villagers may come and participate.  Time is set aside for questions from the public.

Parish Council Minutes

The Parish Council meets every two months. The Orchard Committee meets every two months.
