GENERAL INFORMATION: Meetings are  held on the fourth Thursday of the month, unless otherwise advised, at St Mary's Cottage, Mashbury Road, Chignal St James CM1 4TP, opposite the playing field. Come along and join us for a creative afternoon.The group meets between 1 and 4 - arrive and leave whenever you like between those times. The cost is £2 each time you attend to cover costs.

Aspiring artists of all abilities are welcome. No one will criticise or ridicule your efforts - we've all been beginners at some point.

Why not bring along your own photos, some flowers or items of interest to paint or draw?

Some ideas to get you going:

1. Look at a good variety of art books

2. Visit art exhibitions. There are many in the Chelmsford area during the year, including Writtle, Great Waltham, Maldon, Danbury, Boreham and Purleigh, as well as Chelmsford Art Society which exhibits in Great Baddow

3. Be inspired by greetings cards and paintings for sale in galleries and art shops
