Jubilee Garden/Street Party
Our garden party to celebrate 70 years of Queen Elizabeth ll’s reign, was held on Saturday 4th June 2022. We held it in the grounds of The Mansion at Coldeast who kindly provided a dedicated area for our residents to enjoy the afternoon.
Approximately 150 residents, (including over 40 children) attended the event. The CDRA invited locals by a leaflet drop and by Facebook. Councillor, Sean Woodward popped in to wish us well too.
Music was provided throughout the afternoon by Barry and his dad, Ashley and helped by his mum, Anne. We want to thank them for giving us a lovely atmosphere all day. Families enjoyed a ‘Royal’ Quiz, plus brought their own picnics, chairs, dogs and fun. Some people took advantage of the 10% discount offered for residents today on food and drink by The Mansion.
The children were offered a chance to play games - thanks to Jim for organising; a Lucky Dip to win a prize each; a Drawing competition where the two winners Ivana and Riley, received prizes. There was also a Fancy dress contest for children with prizes (and crowns!) for a girl and a boy. All children received a small prize for taking part.
Courteney provided free face painting all day – Thank you Courteney!
A free raffle provided lots of lovely prizes of wine and gifts, all donated by local residents and the Mansion – Thank you all.
Thank you to all our volunteer helpers and to all the residents who attended. You made it a wonderful day!
