SPOT THE BEE FLY ETC. ETC. UPDATE 30th DECEMBER 2022

Hello again, we hope you all enjoyed a Happy Christmas! We thought we should try and get in one more Bee Fly before the end of the year so with the help of Steve Outram and regular Rob Agar we can kick off with this note from Steve and a very nice photo of the Turkey- tail Fungus, - thank you Steve.

21st December: “Hi Mike. Spotted this rather striking black and white turkey-tail fungus 2 weeks ago but my phone had stopped sending photos to one drive. All sorted now. It appeared to be growing on the ground but was probably on the roots of a hawthorn mowed to the ground by the council 3 months ago.

Thanks for the Christmas greetings (superb redwing photo). Have a good Christmas. Hope to see you at the EGM.

All the best to you and Jenny, Steve”

Then Rob, seemingly always out and about with his camera:

21st December: “A couple from the River Blackwater area in Ash Vale”

“…. more River Blackwater areas near Blackwater....I thought the lichen from a distance was a kingfisher.....off to Specsavers...lol”

“Lots of herons on the River Blackwater a few days ago as all lakes are frozen....I counted four on a 150 yard stretch”

Next, a few from me all taken in our garden in the past two or three weeks, except the Fungus which was taken when out with Ken at the Bramshill Plantation and the Fox taken in our neighbour’s garden:

That’s all we have for this last update for the year, thank you to those of you who have contributed and enabled us all to keep in touch, we hope that many of you will be able to join us at our EGM on Monday 16 January at 2.00pm in the Heritage Gallery at 33, Obelisk Way, in Camberley.

Wishing You All a Very Happy and Healthy 2023!

Mike & Jenny
