November 2021

CNHS Nov update.

We were able during October to spend a week in Wareham in Dorset – not as exotic as the planned, but postponed, holidays but we had beautiful weather and were able to see 7 of the friends who have departed for this lovely county. All were interested in the Society and most were pleased to be able to access the zoom meetings to keep in touch.

And our zoom meeting in November is once again hosted by our President Dr Pat Morris and is entitled “Slovenia  -  Bears and Dormice”

Always worth seeing his photographs and hearing of their exploits so do join us on Thursday 4th November at 7.30pm
Topic: Pat Morris' Zoom Meeting for CNHS
Time: This is a recurring meeting Meet same time every time

Joan took a couple of photographs in the garden a few days ago, one of her favourite dahlias still has fresh flowers and a Fly agaric without many scales on its cap.

I snapped the same fungus yesterday when it looked a lot different.
Some other garden fungi from yesterday include these Parasols, Candle snuff and a group of Earthstars in the fern bed.

There is good news from Tice’s Meadow, a consortium of local authorities has agreed to purchase the site and we just await the final signing off.

*******Joan just reminded me that I was supposed to add this to the update.

I have a number (22) of one litre preserving jars which are available to whoever would like some.
