Roadworks: See News Updates
Save the date for Wild Woods Week
In recent months there has been a significant increase in the number of recyling waste lorry loads being rejected at the recycling centre for contamination. The top 3 contaminates are clothing, dirty disposable nappies and food waste. The whole load has to be sent to landfill. This costs the district council money as they loose the recylable income and then have to pay for landfill.
Clothing banks are located in the car park of Ashingdon&East Hawkwell Memorial Hall and Hockley library.
Dirty nappies must go in the non recycling bin (purple) and food waste in the green bin.
If you have more than 2 children in nappies or a family member who is incontinent you can request a larger purple bin . Call RDC Customer Service 01702 546366.
