ESF funding news

Funding of around £500 million from the European Social Fund (ESF) will be available to charities in England between 2014 and 2020, according to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). In previous ESF funding rounds, charities faced barriers when trying to raise match funding, which is required before an application for ESF can be made. In this funding round, volunteer time and social investment can now be treated as match funding and the Big Lottery Fund has offered to provide match funding for local social inclusion projects in future.

It is a return to the 1991-1998 model when Labour got in they changed the rules but this has opened up the access to funding streams in the EU again.
