Sunday 2nd June 10.30 am BRILL

Meet by the Windmill GR653143 (HP18 9TQ). Walking past church and school to follow path beside Chinkwell Wood, then towards Dorton Spa farm then on track to turn right across two fields through spinney. Then uphill past Chilton Park Farm and continue uphill passing Brill House back to Brill. Some moderate descents/ascents with wide-ranging views. 5 stiles. Cattle in some pastures. No dogs. 4.5 miles.

Saturday 8th June 10.30 am PAULERSPURY – Boadicea’s Last Stand

Meet at Paulerspury parish church GR716456 (NN12 7NE) parking considerately in the High Street. We will walk the length of the village, then on field paths to Alderton and to the site near Cuttle Mill that, at least some historians believe, was the site of the final defeat of Boadicea by the Romans in 60/61AD. Then back to Paulerspury. 5 miles.

Saturday 15th June 10.30 am DUNSTABLE DOWNS

Park and meet at Chiltern Gate Centre GR008195 (LU6 2GY), parking fee if not National Trust member. From Leighton Buzzard bypass take Totternhoe road, go through village then left and right at roundabouts signed Dunstable Downs. Walking on Icknield Way down to Whipsnade Tree Cathedral, Studham Church and Whipsnade Heath. Returning through woodland with long fairly steep ascent back to Gateway Centre. Good views and varied scenery. Dogs on leads. 4.5 miles.

Saturday 22nd June 10.30 am BOTOLPH CLAYDON

Meet in small car park on road towards Calvert GR729246. Car share as limited space. Walking paths west of Runts Wood then along ridge with good views to Hogshaw Farm returning through the farm with its many unusual animals. Dogs on leads. 4.5 miles.

Sunday 30th June WINSLOW – LONDON BLIND GROUP VISIT

Based in St Laurence Room, meeting train at Bletchley approx. 10.00 am. Volunteers needed to meet train and accompany guests. Further details will be available later.

Sunday 14th July 10.00 am WHITCHURCH

Early start. Meet and park in the White Swan car park GR804205 (HP22 4JT). Please car share. This longish undulating walk across pasture and arable land takes us to Cublington and Dunton and into Creslow. Wide open spaces with views of the Chilterns. Some stiles and livestock so no dogs. 7 miles.

Saturday 20th July 10.30 am WING to Mentmore

Park and meet in public car park with overhead barrier next to Sports Club on south side of A418 near light-controlled pedestrian crossing GR884237 (LU7 0NW). Walking through allotments to take field path past Windmill Hill Buildings to Mentmore. Returning to Wing on footpath and short road sections past Lower Ascott. 5 miles.

Friday 26th July 10:30 am ASPLEY WOODS

Meet at large free car park in Aspley Woods, Longslade Lane GR927333 (MK17 9HZ). Turn left off A5 south of city signed to Woburn, left at next junction past golf course then right. Car park on left-hand side of Longslade Road. Circular walk through the Aspley and Woburn woods and by the golf course. No stiles, woodland paths some gentle undulations. Halfway stop for coffee/toilets. 4.5 miles.

Saturday 3rd August 10 am STEWKLEY

Note early start. Park carefully in High St North (or Recreation ground if free). Meet by old phone box near church GR852261 (LU7 0HH).Taking footpath from Chapel Square west to Stewkley Dean then SW on north side of Blackland Covert and farm then SE passing North Farm to return to Stewkley near church. 6 stiles. Pasture, arable headlands, tracks. Probably livestock so no dogs. 4.5 miles.

Sunday 4th August 10.00 am WINSLOW Farmers Market. Promotion Stall. Volunteers requested to attend stall. A short walk around town will be included which anybody may join.

Sunday 11th August 11.00 am DINTON

Note late start. Bring picnic lunch. Park and meet near the Seven Stars Inn GR763108 (HP17 8UZ) (eternally.puzzle.merge), turn off A418 into New Road.  Picturesque countryside walk along parts of Aylesbury Ring and Thame Valley Walk taking about 3 hours. Extended break by river. 3 stiles and 5 footbridges, one main road crossing. Maybe livestock so dogs on leads. 5.5 miles.

Saturday 17th August 10.30 am WOLVERTON

Meet in New Bradwell Allotments Car Park, Newport Rd, Wolverton, 200m E of Stonebridge roundabout GR823415 (MK13 0AW) (commuting.typist.retailing). Walk through Wolverton’s “secret garden” onto disused Newport Pagnell branch line to former New Bradwell station site, where we’ll pause look at some interesting vintage maps and photos from when the line was working. We’ll also visit Bradwell windmill, then walk via Bradwell village and Bancroft Roman Villa. Hard paths, no stiles. Approx. 4 miles.

Saturday 24th August 10.00 am ASHRIDGE & WWI trenches

Note early start. Park and meet at Hult Ashridge College GR993122 (HP4 1NS) (sending.restore.ringside). From A4146 take road to Ringshall and go through Little Gaddesden taking right turn after Bridgewater Arms. Meet on grass at tree near Bakehouse café. Walking through Golden Valley to Frithsden beeches and WWI trenches returning over Berkhamsted Common. Gentle inclines open meadow and woodland. 5.3 miles.

Saturday 31st August 10.30 am NORTH MARSTON

Meet at the Village Hall GR 773328 (MK18 3PA) located at the junction with Quainton Road. Park with care on surrounding roads. A quiet rural walk through open farmland on bridleways and field paths. Approx 4.5 miles.
